Sceneboard — troubleshooting

No sound when I tap a pad.

A pad says “Sound missing”.

The pad's audio file is no longer readable on the device (this can happen after restoring the device from a backup, or if iOS reclaimed storage). Your pad's label, colour and settings are kept: go to Edit → tap the pad → Replace sound and give it its audio back. Everything else on the board keeps working meanwhile.

Sound is delayed on my Bluetooth speaker.

That latency comes from the Bluetooth link itself, and it varies a lot by device. For split-second triggering use the built-in speaker or a wired/USB output. AirPlay is best kept for ambience only.

Recording is greyed out / doesn't start.

Sceneboard needs microphone permission to record. Grant it in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → Sceneboard. Playback and everything else works fine without the permission — only recording needs it.

A call came in while I was recording.

Sceneboard keeps the recording up to the interruption if it can finalize it safely, or discards it explicitly — you'll never get a corrupted take. Just record again.

My import was rejected.

The import screen lists the supported file types. Two common cases: the file's format isn't supported, or you picked a video that has no audio track. Everything happens on-device — re-exporting the file to a common format (e.g. MP3 or M4A) from its source app usually solves it.

I bought the unlock but it isn't active.

Open Settings → Restore purchases (same Apple ID as the purchase). Restore needs a network connection — everything else in Sceneboard works offline. If a purchase is “pending” (e.g. Ask to Buy), it activates automatically the moment it's approved.

The board disappeared in Split View — it says “Too narrow”.

At very narrow window widths there is no pad size that can be hit safely, so the board steps aside instead of shrinking pads into mis-tap territory. Widen the window and the board comes right back, unchanged. Anything already playing keeps playing, and Stop all stays available.

Pads briefly show a “priming” state after switching boards.

That's the board being loaded into memory so that every later tap is instant. It lasts a moment; page changes within a board never cause it.

An imported board shows pads I can't tap (the “Not activated” list).

On the free tier a received board activates any 8 pads you choose; the rest are safely stored in Edit mode's “Not activated” list. Swap any of them in for an active pad at any time, free — or unlock to activate the whole board.

Something else is wrong.
